Information
Nestled along the riverbanks of the North Fork of the Thompson River and surrounded by rugged mountainous terrain, our ranch is home to high-quality, grass-fed, grain-finished Black Angus beef. From the moment our calves are born to when our beef reaches your table, every step of the process reflects our commitment to quality, sustainability, and ethical ranching practices.
Cattle Rearing
Our cattle spend their entire lives grazing on lush pastures, free to forage and grow in a natural, stress-free environment. Unlike large scale feedlot operations, we never use growth supplements, hormones, or steroids to accelerate their development. Antibiotics are only used under the strict guidance of trusted veterinarians to ensure the health and well-being of our animals in rare cases of medical need. The geographic isolation of our ranch further protects our herd, minimizing the risk of disease and ensuring a healthy, thriving environment.
Calving
Calving season is an important time on the ranch, and we provide the utmost care to ensure the safety of our newborn calves and their mothers. During mild weather, calves are born in open meadows and monitored closely each day. In colder weather, they begin life in warm, comfortable calving pens with close supervision. This hands-on approach ensures strong, healthy calves from the very beginning.
Sustainability and Regenerative Ranching
We believe that sustainable ranching isn’t just about preserving the land—it’s about improving it for future generations. Our practices embrace the principles of regenerative ranching, focusing on improving soil health, bettering range condition, and fostering a balanced ecosystem.
Our rotational grazing system ensures that pastures are not overused, allowing native grasses to thrive and the soil to regenerate naturally. This method helps sequester carbon, improves water retention, prevents soil erosion, and contributes to healthier land. Our meadows have native grasses and forbs that have evolved to thrive with grazing pressure, and we are striving towards creating pastures that are grazed intensely for a short duration and then left to rest and regrow, mimicking how bison and other native herbivores use rangeland.
From Pasture to Plate
Our finishing program combines the best of both worlds: the clean, wholesome nutrition of grass feeding and the delicious marbling that comes from the increase of nutrients and energy that grain provides. The result is beef that is not only ethically and sustainably raised but also rich in flavor and unmatched in quality.
A Legacy of Stewardship
As a family, we view ourselves as stewards of the land and caretakers of a legacy. Our ranching practices are guided by a deep respect for the animals, the land, and our history. By embracing regenerative ranching principles, we are ensuring that our ranch will continue to thrive for generations to come.
